Ellis Delaney's New Album:
Finding "Ordinary Love" in Hard Times

Minneapolis-based songwriter Ellis Delaney releases her new record Ordinary Love on Friday, June 5 and celebrates with a virtual release show on Sunday, June 7 at 5 pm CDT on Facebook. The album is about finding healing and hope in family and community--something we all feel deeply right now. In Ellis' own words:

There is joy, accountability, love, and support for healing in these songs--much of this coming from the work I’ve done with Resmaa Menakem and his book “My Grandmother’s Hands." The cover, made by Twin Cities artist Ricardo Levins Morales, is inspiring and shows community coming together for all to thrive. I hope that the project is timely and that it contributes. I love my city. I love my Powderhorn neighbors. And now more than ever, I see/feel more than ever how important that community connection and care is.

Living less than a mile from the site where George Floyd was murdered, Ellis has seen firsthand the power of community in action. You can hear her talk more about that in this interview with KAXE Radio.
