Karan Casey Hosts tour of Ireland

Irish Song Tour | Oct 15-25, 2024

Leading Irish singer Karan Casey is inviting you to come to Ireland with her and enjoy an epic 10-day guided tour, exploring the music, culture and history of Ireland. Drawing on many strands of culture that she has been involved in (songwriting, historical song research, cutting edge theater, poetry), Karan will bring her fresh focus on the fascinating female historical characters from 1916 to now as she takes you across Ireland to delve deep into the history and songs of Ireland with nightly concerts and conversations with experts in Irish history, music, poetry, politics and archaeology.

In addition to being "one of the great singers in Irish music" (Irish Echo) and a founding member of Celtic band Solas, Karan is a leading advocate for gender equity, spearheading the FairPlé campaign for gender balance in Irish traditional and folk music. Her latest album Nine Apples of Gold celebrates Irish women's stories and topped the Irish and US folk charts. Read all about it in Folk Alley.

Two-time Juno Award Winner Kiran Ahluwalia releases her highly anticipated new album Comfort Food. Her first in six years and three years in the making, it is a powerful statement of protest with songs rejecting injustice, graced with songs embracing joy. Making modern Indian songs influenced by blues, rock, jazz and Punjabi folk, the Indian-born artist confronts virulent ethnic nationalism with songs about liberation, love and the common humanity we all share.

Davina & The Vagabonds Featured on The Current

Called “fun, frisky and alive” (American Songwriter), jazz/roots band Davina and The Vagabonds stretch into playful pop territory on their new single “Find My Love,” which was featured as The Current's Song of the Day. Check out the new lyric video, and download the track for free here. It's a first taste of their new album Shoot for the Moon, which will be released on May 31 with a big hometown concert at the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts in St. Paul, MN.
